A Thoughtful Seven-Day Morocco Itinerary
A compact first trip that connects Marrakech, the High Atlas, and the desert without turning every day into a transfer day.

Seven days is enough for a memorable first taste of Morocco if you resist the urge to cross the whole country. This route keeps the distances sensible and gives each stop enough time to become more than a photograph from a car window.
Days 1–2: Marrakech
Use the first two days to settle into the medina. Walk the souks in the morning, visit one major garden or palace, and keep an evening free for a rooftop dinner. A riad inside or just beside the medina makes the city much easier to experience on foot.
Days 3–4: Mountains and kasbahs
Head south through the High Atlas and spend a night in a mountain village or kasbah. The road is part of the story: stop for mint tea, walk a short valley trail, and give yourself time to see how quickly the landscape changes beyond the pass.
Days 5–7: The desert edge
Continue toward the desert for two nights around an oasis or the dunes. Return to Marrakech on the final day, or finish in Ouarzazate if your onward route takes you east. The best version of this itinerary is flexible around the road conditions and the season.
